Idea

Search Google for Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms.

Why reinvent the wheel when there are free, accessible resources available online that you can use in your classroom right away?  Search Google for these resources by typing your topic and then site:docs.google.com.  This will only search the domain docs.google.com which includes all public Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms.

Here is an example:

Being specific in your searches will yield better results.  And, of course, ALWAYS credit your sources.

By searching for “Notes” and “Google Slides”, the results will include presentations rather than Google Docs, Sheets, or Forms.  If you search  “Genetics Quiz site:docs.google.com” then you may get results that include Google Forms.

Now wading through these search results can be a bit of a needle-in-the-haystack method to find resources, but how long would it take you to create something from scratch? A lot of resources that you find won’t be perfect, but perhaps you could modify them, discover an embedded video or image that really captures the content, or otherwise be inspired by the ideas of others.  You’ll be amazed at what’s out there!
